Glamping canvas tents are a type of portable structure that are known to be one of the most durable and lightweight types of tents in the world. They are made of high quality canvas that has undergone several processes so as to make them highly resistant to various weather conditions. Canvas is basically a heavy woven fabric made with polyester fibers or dioxin. Due to its toughness and durability, it's widely utilized for manufacturing sails, backpacks, footwear, artwork, and even canvas tents these days.

The basic construction of canvas tents is composed of four major components namely - the base which is known to be constructed from strong nylon mesh, the innermost layer of which is the polyester fiber, the removable side panels comprised of Dura-Lite fabric and the outermost layer which are the polyester. This entire process, no matter how elaborately it's structured, involves several primary steps. The first step usually is done by pouring nylon mesh into large bins and later, the polyester fiber cloth is spread onto it and the two layering process is done. Several days are spent in order to create this sturdy and strong canvas.

Another very important and critical step that's highly recommended is to utilize Dura-Lite fiber and Dura-UD, which are basically a light polymer that is mixed with cotton fiber and an ultraviolet ray resistant agent. By doing so, we can greatly reduce the ultra violet (UV) rays coming from the sun during the day time. The UV rays can result to many health issues and one major threat is related to skin cancer, which is why this step is highly advised.

It is also crucial that we select high grade materials in order to make our canvas tents durable and light weight when glamping in zion. High grade nylon or Dura-Lite fibers are usually utilized for this purpose because these are proven to be stronger than polyester. Cotton fiber is also an option and this is typically used when the canvas tent is to be installed in outdoor settings. The reason for this is because cotton has the tendency to absorb moisture when it comes in contact with the ground which is unfavorable for those who want their canvas tents to remain waterproof.

Water proofing is another essential factor for people who need to use canvas tents for camping purposes. Water proofing can be accomplished in various ways and we have already mentioned the role of nylon and Dura-Lite fiber in this regard. Another option is to utilize a combination of materials that are high in water resistance but low on durability. One of such materials is the acrylic material. Acrylics can be used for various purposes including waterproofing but unfortunately they lack the fire retardant properties that are typical of Dura-Lite fibers and polyester.

Another aspect that needs to be taken into account when purchasing canvas tents is the fact that they should be easy to set up and take down. This is especially important if the tent will be used during weekend camping trips where there will be no one to help with setting up or taking down. It is preferable to choose tents with an automatic setup feature that can help make things easier.
